Salma Mohamed Kanani is a medical doctor by profession. Graduated from faculty of medicine university of Khartoum in December 1994. I joined the Sudanese ministry of (SMOH) in 1995 and enrolled in its civil service trail. I started as a resident house officer and currently I am a senior public health consultant and community medicine professor in several medical schools. My last post was the director of health strategic planning department In FMOH. Along this career pathway, I accomplished a master degree in public health majoring in maternal child health from Netherlands school of public health. I fulfilled courses In International health and health system management (Denmark), occupational health, safety and Infection control (Belgium) and policy development and strategic planning in addition to social research(AUC-Egypt). I worked for the SMOH both state and federal .I worked also with a number of NGOs like CARE International, Near East Foundation, and Goal, Sudan Family Planning Association. I joined the academia in 2002 as assistant professor of community medicine (part timer staff) in several medical schools such as Nileen University, Africa International University, and University Of Medical Sciences And Technology and Lately with NILE College. In the year 2000, I established my own consultation office, which I named Health World (HW). Through various activities of HW, we executed projects such as KHATWA for women empowerment, and science for action association.
