Description
I awarded my PhD degree (2016) in Soil Science from University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa; BSc (2010) and MSc (2010) degrees in Agriculture, Department of Soil and Environment Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum, Sudan. I started my career as a researcher assistant and later on promoted to a researcher at the Environment, Natural Resources and Desertification Research Institute, National Centre for Research, Sudan. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the School of agriculture, Earth and Environmental Science, University of KwaZulu-Natal. My primary research interest lies in the area of land degradation, land rehabilitation, carbon sequestration into soils in order to mitigate against climate change; with the main aim being to assess the impact of different land management practices on soil organic matter losses whether through water erosion or as greenhouse gases emissions to the atmosphere.
