Description
Dr. Abdelrahman Omer obtained his MBBS from the University of Khartoum, Sudan in 2012. He later pursed his studies at the University of Oxford in public policy, and in Clinical Education at Newcastle University where he worked as a Clinical Teaching Fellow. He worked as a Health Economist at the Federal Ministry of Health in Sudan, leading the Advocacy team of the National Health Accounts. During his undergraduate years he was elected to the council of Khartoum University Students Union (KUSU), and elected by the council twice to the executive committee as the Secretary General. He has previously worked in student and non-governmental organisations and bodies, and was formerly appointed as one of the standing committee Regional Assistants for Africa in the International Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA). He is currently a Specialty Trainee in Clinical Radiology in the UK and takes on the role of acting Secretary General of the Sudanese Medical Association (SMA) in UK and Ireland.
